What types of problems can be treated with Sonotron Therapy?

 


Chronic Elbow Pain

  1. Olecranon Bursitis - for relieving pain and reduction of swelling due to traumatic and septic Olecranon Bursitis.
  2. Nursemaid's Elbow - affects children aged 1 to 3 years - Sonotron can be used for relieving pain first and then followed by gentle extension and supination of the forearm.

Chronic Wrist Pain

  1. DeQuervain's Syndrome - involves the inflammation of the extensor tendons of the first dorsal compartment of the thumb, complaint mainly involves pain localized to the radial styloid process of the wrist, especially when the thumb is moved or by activities of the wrist as when it is forced into ulnar deviation - for relieving pain and increasing range and speed of motion.
  2. Kienbock's Disease - a vascular necrosis of the lunate, affecting individuals between 15 to 30 years, commonly resulting from trauma like a fall on a dosiflexed wrist - for relieving pain and reducing swelling which worsens usually on movement as well as increasing the speed and range of motion.
  3. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome - for relieving pain and increasing range and speed of motion of the wrist.

Chronic Hand Pain

  1. Trigger Finger - Sonotron can relieve pain and increase range and speed of motion
  2. Carpometacarpal Arthritis Of The Thumb - for relieving pain and increasing range and speed of motion of the thumb.

Chronic Back Pain

  1. Non-discogenic Low Back Pain - for relieving pain and increasing range and speed of motion.
  2. Herniated Lumbar Disc - for relieving pain and increasing range and speed of motion.
  3. Spinal Stenosis - low back pain radiating down posterior aspects of both legs, and in the case of an associated herniated disc, the pain will radiate below the knee - for relieving pain and increasing range and speed of motion.
  4. Spondylolisthesis - slippage of one vertebral body upon another - chief complaint is low back pain - for relieving pain and increasing range and speed of motion.

Chronic Hip Pain

  1. Arthritis Of The Hip Joint - for relieving pain due to osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis of the hip joint; in the case of osteoarthritis, further degeneration is reduced or eliminated by the Sonotron treatment, as well as increasing the speed and range of motion of the hip joint.
