What types of problems can be treated with Sonotron Therapy?


Chronic Thigh Pain

  1. Inflammation Of The Hamstring Muscles - patients complain of extreme pain in the proximal posterior thigh region - for relieving pain and accelerates stretching and muscular strengthening abilities of patient as well as increasing range and speed of motion.
  2. Hematoma Of The Thigh - pain in a well localised area of the thigh with a painful lump - for relieving pain and reducing swelling.

Chronic Knee Pain

  1. Chondromalacia Patellae (Patellofemoral Pressure Syndrome) - degeneration of the cartilaginous surface of the Patella - for relieving pain due to this problem and increasing the range and speed of motion of the knee joint.
  2. Patellofemoral Arthritis - for relieving pain and increasing range and speed of motion of the knee.
  3. Meniscal Injuries - for relieving pain and increasing range and speed of motion.
  4. Injuries To The Anterior And Posterior Cruciate Ligaments - for relieving pain and increasing range and speed of motion, as well as reducing swelling, if any.
  5. Osteochondritis Dissecans - an area of avascular necrosis of subchondral bone that may affect the overlying cartilage - for relieving knee pain and recurrent episodes of knee swelling associated with activity.
  6. Prepatellar Bursitis - for relieving pain in traumatic and inflammatory Prepatellar Bursitis; antibiotics must be given to patients with septic Prepatellar Bursitis.
  7. Osgood-Schlatter's Disease - an inflammatory condition involving the tibial tubercle, between the age of 11 to 15 years - for relieving anterior knee pain due to the inflammation and increasing the range and speed of motion.
  8. The Acutely Swollen Knee - for relieving pain and reducing swelling due to: Degenerative Arthritic knee conditions, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Gouty Arthropathy of the knee and Pseudogout, Septic Arthritis (which must be accompanied by administration of antibiotics) as well as increasing range and speed of motion of the knee.

Chronic Tibia Pain

  1. Shin Splints (Periostitis of the Tibia) - patients complain of anterior medial tibial pain made worse with exercise, pain is frequently worse at the end of the day, if the patient has been active - for relieving pain and increasing range and speed of motion.
